compassionate counseling for women who want more
Have you ever driven home from a family gathering, brunch with girlfriends, or a day at work analyzing everything you did? Upset with yourself because you interacted a little too long with that toxic family member, or over shared with your friends when you promised to keep it light this time?
Finding, and accepting, your authentic self takes some work, and it gets messy. It can be even more difficult to show up as that person consistently. Let's break the cycle of who you are expected to be to become who you truly are.
We are constantly receiving messages about who we are supposed to be, as a woman, as a partner, as a parent. The shame and guilt that come from not fitting the mold can be overwhelming--particularly when you are working through a life transition, whether that be work related, a relationship, or becoming a mom. Not everything happens the way we hope and the pressure to reach our goals as quickly as possible is difficult.
Sometimes its not your choice--the journey to become a mom, or get your dream job—and it may not happen overnight. The feelings that come up with these challenges are difficult to navigate, much less being present in the moment when everything you want seems far away. I strive to create a safe place for you to work through these feelings and the heavy decisions that come with big life transitions.
Our first session will be 90 minutes long. Each session afterwards will last 50 minutes.
I require weekly sessions to start, so we can get to know each other and build the trust we need to keep a steady momentum as we work towards your goals.
We’ll talk about how to make this work for your lifestyle.
After overcoming fertility struggles of my own, I am a new mom who is navigating big changes in life, fielding pressures from social media and family, all while working to hold on to who I am as an individual. Let me help you do the same.
On a more professional level, I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies from UCM in 2016 and my Master’s in School Counseling from UMSL in 2018. I started my career in schools in 2017 and have been working with teenage girls as a school counselor since 2019.
I am provisionally licensed in the state of Missouri, and I am under supervision by Tina Clark, LPC-S, #2014035394.
When I am not counseling, I am getting creative through crafts, cooking, and sometimes photography. I also love to snuggle up with my sweet pup and baby girl and read a good book!
