compassionate counseling for
women and couples who want more
Finding, and accepting, your authentic self takes some work, and it gets messy. It can be even more difficult to show up as that person consistently.
We are always receiving messages about who we are supposed to be. The shame and guilt that come from not fitting the mold can be overwhelming--particularly when you are working through something big, whether that be work-related, a relationship, or becoming a mom.
Not everything happens the way we hope, and the pressure to reach our goals as quickly as possible seems daunting. The feelings that come up with these challenges can be hard to navigate, much less being present in the moment when everything you want seems far away.
Let’s work together to find who YOU are so that these big decisions seem true to the person you want to be. AND, if you don’t know who you are, let’s figure that out too.
It’s not easy to maintain a relationship and grow as individuals at the same time. Sometimes relationships can get stuck when you’re arguing about the same thing, and it can feel like you just can’t seem to get on the same page. Or, maybe your relationship is changing in a big way—parenthood, marriage, someone’s career—and you want to work through that decision or create a plan.
Whether you are in a new relationship, contemplating marriage, or have been married for many years, counseling can be a great place to update the relationship and come together in an intentional way. I would be honored to work with you and help you to rebuild your connection, restore joy in your relationship, and grow stronger as a couple.
Additionally, I have a passion for working with couples who are hoping to grow their family. Whether it is your first child or not, it’s distressing when the family you have envisioned seems so far from reality. If you have been trying to conceive for a while, you may find yourself wondering how many more cycles you will have to track, or if you will ever have the opportunity to tell your partner it finally happened. Trying to support each other while navigating this uncertainty can be overwhelming.
When it feels like no one quite gets what you’re going through, I am here to help you lean into each other.
Our first session will be 90 minutes long. Each session afterwards will last 50 minutes.
I require weekly sessions to start, so we can get to know each other and build the trust we need to keep a steady momentum as we work towards your goals.
We’ll talk about how to make this work for your lifestyle.
I utilize an approach called the Gottman Method to give you tools that can help you navigate your ever-changing relationship.
This starts with a 90 min first session with the three of us, followed by a 50-min individual session with each partner. During this time, you'll also take a Gottman assessment tool (cost is included in session fees).
Then, we'll reconvene, talk about what I'm seeing, and work together to create a plan for next steps.
After experiencing fertility struggles of my own, I am a new mom who is navigating big changes in life, all while working to hold on to who I am as an individual. I'd love to help you do the same.
On a more professional level, I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies from UCM in 2016 and my Master’s in School Counseling from UMSL in 2018. I started my career in schools in 2017 and have been working with teenage girls as a school counselor since 2019.
I am provisionally licensed in the state of Missouri, and I am under supervision by Tina Clark, LPC-S, #2014035394.
When I am not counseling, I am getting creative through photography and cooking.
